SESSION SYNOPSIS – MARCH 2, 2010

 
It was moved and seconded to approve Marilyn Hopkins as the recording clerk for this meeting. Carried.
 
CONSENT AGENDA
 
Approval was given to grant the request for transfer of membership for John and Marge Fountain to First Methodist Church, Ypsilanti
 
There will be a called Session meeting on Sunday, March 21 at 9:30am in the library. The purpose of this meeting is for the Session to meet the new member’s class
 
The dates for Vacation Bible School (VBS) were approved for June 28-July 1
 
COUNCIL REPORTS
 
MISSION – The Sneaker Tree project will be in April (dates to be announced later). There has been an urgent request from Church World Service for hygiene and baby care kits. Details are in this newsletter.
 
FELLOWSHIP – Future activities were announced. Two to make note of are:
May 1 – 2-4pm – Mother & Daughter Tea
May 16Open house for the church addition. (time will be announced later)
 
MEMBERSHIP – Four people have expressed interest in attending leadership training for Stephens Ministries
 
WORSHIP – A motion was made and carried to have three worship services on Easter Sunday:
8:00am; 9:00am; and 10:30am. Communion will be served at each service.
 
CHRISTIAN NURTURE – A motion was made and carried to recommend the hiring of Robin Shear as part-time Youth Director
 
A motion was moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting. Carried.
