SESSION SYNOPSIS – AUGUST 3, 2010
 
CONSENT AGENDA
 
Approval was given for our church to sponsor the CROP Walk this year on October 10th
 
The following roster of Sunday school teachers and assistants was presented:
Nursery – Becky Hetu

Kindergarten/First Grade – Joan Thomas & Jennifer Johnson

Second Grade – Kim & Jennifer Snedeker

Third & Fourth Grade – Rachel Taylor & Michelle Moore
Fifth & Sixth Grade – Jo Edwards & Travis Moore
Seventh & Eighth Grade – Carrie Heider (every other Sunday)

 COUNCIL REPORTS

 

FELLOWSHIP – Hanging of the Greens will be December 1

MISSION- $1,000 will be taken from the Disbrow account and transferred into the discretionary fund.

BUSINESS ADMIN. & PERSONNEL – It was reported that Ted Carlson has resigned as custodian, effective August 13th. Bruce Smith has been hired to fill the vacancy. Kudos were given to Linda Boland for the excellent job she did in cleaning and waxing the floors in Fellowship hall.

MEMBERSHIP – A new member’s class will begin on September 12th with new members received on October 10th. A new pictorial directory will be started after Easter next year. 

WORSHIP – This council will be working with the aesthetics committee to paint and spruce up the rooms in the education wing

  

CHRISTIAN NURTURE – Rev. Christine Barnes was approved as the Confirmation class teacher for the coming year. It was moved and seconded to support the trip to Cedar Point for 9-12 graders on September 4th. It was also moved and seconded to carpet and paint the Jr.High/Bible Explorers room (LL11), spending up to and not more than $1200

 

It was moved and seconded to approve the recommendations of the Implementation Task Force as follows:

  1. Removal of large center counter & cabinets from the former office (UL09) and to carpet and paint as needed to make this space suitable as a nursery
  2. Redecorate the new Youth Room (LL11) (formerly 2 small classrooms) with carpeting & paint
  3. Paint paneling in lower Christian education wing to match the outer wall
  4. Remove materials temporarily stored in classrooms and some freestanding cabinets to make classrooms ready
  5. Request the Aesthetics Committee (Lois Beery, John Neely, Joan Thomas, Bonnie VanWagnen) to develop plans for redecorating the Conference Room (UL05) and the lower level bathrooms
  6. Install good, temporary signs to identify these rooms as soon as possible

 

The meeting was adjourned with prayer by Rev. Barnes. The next Session meeting will be on Tuesday, September 7 with councils beginning at 6:00pm.
